<br />March 4. 2005 <br /> <br />217 <br /> <br />At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Friday, March 4, 2005, there were present: <br /> <br />Mayor James W. Holley III, 'Vice Mayor William E. Moody, Jr., Charles B. Whitehurst, Sr., <br />'Marlene W. Randall, Stephen E. Heretick, Elizabeth M. Psi mas, 'Ray A. Smith, Sr., Assistant <br />City Attorney Alfred W. Bates III. <br /> <br />05 - 93 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br />"Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the 6th Floor <br />Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 12:00 noon, Friday, March 4, 2005 for the purpose of a <br />Public Work Session. <br /> <br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br />05 - 94 - Motion by Ms. Psimas, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to go into Closed Meeting <br />pursuant to provisions of Section 2.2-3711 (A) the Code of Virginia, to discuss or consider the <br />following: <br /> <br />consult with legal counsel about specific legal matters requiring legal advice, <br />as authorized by paragraph 7. <br /> <br />The subject matter shall be legal matters involving contracts and possible litigation <br />involving the City. <br /> <br />The purpose shall be to permit frank and confidential discussion of negotiating position <br />and strategy. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />Motion by Ms. Psimas, and seconded by Ms. Randall, pursuant to Section 2.2-3712(D) <br />of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Members' knowledge during the <br />immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council: <br /> <br />1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by <br />the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and <br /> <br />2. Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which the <br />Closed Meeting was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting <br />by the City Council. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />05 - 95 - The following item was discussed in Public Work Session: <br /> <br />1. 2025 Plan - Robert Baldwin <br /> <br />On motion, meeting adjourned at 1:55 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br />Un <br /> <br />Victor H.
