285 <br /> <br />February 8, 1994 <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, <br />February 8, 1994, there were present: <br /> <br /> Mayor Gloria O. Webh, Vice Mayor Lee E. King, Johnny M. <br />Clemons, John H. Epperson, Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., James C. <br />Hawks, Cameron C. Pitts, V. Wayne Orton, City Manager, Stuart E. <br />Katz, City Attorney. <br /> <br />94-41 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be <br />held in the City Council Chamber, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 <br />Crawford Street, at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 8, 1994, for <br />the purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br /> In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an <br />Executive Session. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br /> 94-43 - The following items were discussed in the Public <br />Work Session: <br /> <br />1. Southeastern Virginia Job Training Authority presentation <br /> <br />2. Leckie Street and Spratley Street Bridges <br /> <br />3. Spent Nuclear Fuel <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Epperson, and seconded by Mr. King, to go <br />into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 <br />of the Code of Virginia for the following: <br /> <br /> (1) Consideration of appointments to Boards and Commissions <br />by the City Council as permitted under Subsection (A) (1); <br /> <br /> (2) Discussion or consideration of the acquisition or use <br />of real property in the southern and central portions of the <br />City for public purpose, as permitted under Subsection (A) (3); <br /> <br /> (3) Discussion or consideration of the use or disposition <br />of publicly held real property in the downtown, central, <br />southern and southeastern portions of the City, as permitted <br />under Subsection (A) (3); <br /> <br /> (4) Consultation with the City Attorney and briefing by <br />staff pertaining to matters of actual litigation in the Segal <br />case as permitted under Subsection {a){7). <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. Epperson <br />pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying <br />that to the best of the Council member's knowledge during the <br />i~mediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: <br /> <br /> (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from <br />open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information <br />Act, and <br /> <br /> <br />
