0 t 6 MaY 25, 2004 <br /> <br /> 14. Michelle Gregg, 15 Affon Parkway, complimented the Police Department on cleaning <br /> up Cradock. <br /> <br />15. Kay Shelton, 10 Crawford Parkway, spoke in opposition to the boat tax. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Griffin; and seconded by Mr. Moody, to go into Closed Meeting <br />pursuant to provisions of Section 2.2-3711(A) of the Code of Virginia, to discuss or <br />consider the following: <br /> <br /> legal matters requiring -the advice of counsel, as per paragraph 7, and the <br />performance of public officials, as per paragraph 1. <br /> <br /> The subject matter of the meeting includes legal matters in the nature of a <br />contract involving the City; and also the performance of individuals public officials of the <br />City. <br /> <br /> The purposes of the meeting are to protect the financial interest of the City and <br />its citizens by having confidential discussion of strategy and tactics in negotiating a <br />contract; and also to permit confidential discussion of personnel matters. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Griffin, and seconded by Mr, Moody, pursuant to Section <br />2.2-3712(D) of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Members' <br />knowledge during the immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council: <br /> <br />1: Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meetin <br /> requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and <br /> <br />Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by whic <br />the Closed Meeting was convened, were heard, discussed or considered ir <br />the meeting by the City Council. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />On motion, meeting adjourned at 10:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Senior Deputy City Clerk <br /> <br />APPROVED - <br /> <br />Dr. James W.
