Webb, <br />Clemons, John H. Epperson, <br />Hawks, Cameron C. Pitts, <br />E. Katz, City Attorney. <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor Lee E. King, Johnny M. <br /> Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., *James C. <br />V. Wayne Orton, City Manager, Stuart <br /> <br />94-77 The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> Please attend a called meeting of the City Council to be <br />held in the City Council Chamber, 6th floor, City Hall Building, <br />801 Crawford Street at 5:00 p.m., Monday, March 7, 1994 for the <br />purpose of a Joint meeting with the Portsmouth Port and <br />Industrial Commission/Industrial Development Authority and a <br />Public Work Session. <br /> <br /> In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an <br />Executive Session. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br />94-78 - The following item was discussed in the Public Work <br />Session: <br /> <br />1. Joint meeting with the Portsmouth Port and Industrial <br />Commisssion/Industrial Development Authority. <br /> <br />The following members were present: <br /> <br />Daniel W. Duncan <br />Stephen L. Lynch <br />B. Ann Davis <br />Jordan E. Slone <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Clemons, to go <br />into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 <br />of the Code of Virginia for the following: <br /> <br /> (1) Consideration of appointments to Boards and Commissions <br />by the City cOuncil as permitted under Subsection (A) (1); <br /> <br /> (2) Discussion or consideration of the acquisition or use <br />of real property in the southeastern, Churchland, southern and <br />central portions of the City for public purpose, as permitted <br />under Subsection (A) (3); <br /> <br /> (3) Discussion or consideration of the use or disposition <br />of publicly held real property in the downtown, central, <br />southern and southeastern portions of the City, as permitted <br />under SubsectiOn (A) (3); <br /> <br /> (4) Consultation with the City Attorney and briefing by <br />staff pertaining to matters of actual litigation (FOP Suit), and <br />legal matters involving Emergency Medical Services, the ABEX <br />Superfund site and Adult Uses, as permitted under Subsection <br />{A) (7). <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Epperson, and seconded by Mr. Pitts pursuant <br />to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to <br />the best of the Council member's knowledge during the <br />immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: <br /> <br /> (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from <br />open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information <br />Act, and <br /> <br /> <br />
