5.-~8 March 30, 2004 <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, March 30, 2004, there were <br /> present: <br /> <br /> Mayor James W. Holley 111, *Vice Mayor Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., Cameron C. Pitts, <br />J. Thomas Benn Ill, William E. Moody, Jr., Charles B. Whitehurst, Sr., <br />Madene W. Randall. <br /> <br /> 04 - 125 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City <br /> Manager's Conference Room, $01 Crawford Street, 5tn floor, 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, <br /> March 30, 2004, for the purpose of appointee evaluations. <br /> <br /> In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting. <br /> <br /> By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br /> 04 - 126 - Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Moody, to go into Closed Meeting <br /> pursuant to provisions, of Section 2.2-3711(A) of the Code of Virginia, to discuss or <br /> consider the following: <br /> <br /> the performance of public official, as per subsection 1. <br /> <br /> The subject matter of the meeting includes the performance of individual public <br /> officials. <br /> <br /> The purpose of the meeting is to protect the public interest by ensuring <br /> confidential discussion of matters which are inappropriate for public discussion. <br /> <br /> The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Moody, pursuant to Section <br /> 2.2-3712(D) of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Members' <br /> knowledge during the immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council: <br /> <br /> 1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting <br /> requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and <br /> <br /> 2. Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which <br /> the Closed Meeting was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in <br /> the meeting by the City Council. <br /> <br /> The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> On motion, meeting adjourned at 7:44 p.m. <br />Minutes prepared by: <br /> <br />Anita Y.
