King, Johnny M. <br />Clemons, John H. Epperson, Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., *James C. <br />Hawks, C~uneron C. Pitts, V. Wayne Orton, City Manager, Stuart <br />E. Katz, City Attorney. <br /> <br />94-82 T~e following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be <br />held in the City Council Chamber, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 <br />Crawford Street, at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 8, 1994, for the <br />purpose of a joint meeting with the Planning Commission and a <br />PUblic Work Session. <br /> <br /> In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an <br />Executive Session. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br /> 94-83 The following item was discussed in the Public <br />Work Session: <br /> <br />1. Joint meeting with the Planning Commission <br /> <br />Planning Commission members present: <br /> <br />Robert C. Barclay, IV <br />Susan Taylor Hansen <br />James A. Overton, Jr. <br />Jimmy Spruill, Sr. <br />Raymond Turner <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Epperson, and seconded by Mr. Clemons, <br />into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section <br />2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the following: <br /> <br />to go <br /> <br />(1) Consideration of appointments to Boards and Commissions by <br />the City Council as permitted under Subsection (A) (1); <br /> <br />(2) Discussion or consideration of the acquisition or use of <br />real property in the southeastern, southern and central <br />portions of the City for public purpose, as permitted under <br />Subsection (A) (3); <br /> <br />(3) Consideration of a personnel matter involving the City <br />Manager's staff, as permitted under Subsection (A)(1); <br /> <br />(4) Consultation with the City Attorney and briefing by staff <br />pertaining to matters of actual litigation (FOP Suit), and <br />legal matters involving Adult Uses and an Emergency Medical <br />Services matter, as permitted under Subsection (A) (7). <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Epperson, and seconded by Mr. King pursuant <br />to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to <br />the best of the Council member's knowledge during the <br />immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: <br /> <br /> (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from <br />open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of <br />Information Act, and <br /> <br /> <br />
