Clemons, Epperson, Griffin, Hawks, King, Pitts, None - NEW BUSINESS - Webb 94-103 - Mr. Clemons offered the following nominations for appointments to the following Boards and Commissions: Transportation Safety Commission Leon Potter to be appointed to an unexpired term ending November 1, 1995, replacing Buddy Nelson. Southeastern Virqinia Job Traininq Administration Mark A. Little to be reappointed to a term of two years, effective June 30, 1994. Motion by Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. King, to close the nominations, and there being no further nominations, the above were approved by unanimous vote. 94-104 - Items Submitted by Council Members Richard Hartman, Director of Public Works, provided information on the drainage situation in the city. 94-105 - Receipt of Other Communications There were no communications presented. 94-106 - Continued Non-Agenda Speakers There were no further speakers. Motion by Mr. Epperson, and seconded by Mr. Clemons, into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the following: to go (1) Discussion or consideration of the acquisition or use of real property in the downtown portion of the City for public purpose, as permitted under Subsection (A)(3); (2) Consultation with the City Attorney and briefing by staff pertaining to a legal matter regarding the Department of Public Uitlities, as permitted under Subsection (A)(7). The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. Motion by Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. Epperson pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council member's knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and
