The City's match will be $18,823. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />· Adoption of an ordinance to appropriate $188,232 in the Grants Fund for the 2004 <br />Local Law Enforcement Block Grant (LLEBG) #8 Program. <br /> <br />Purpose and Need: <br /> <br />· The United States Department of Justice has approved a grant under the Bureau of <br />Justice in the amount of $169,409 for the Police Department's Local Law Enforcement <br />Block Grant Program. The City must provide a cash match of $18,823 for a total award <br />of $188,232. <br /> <br />· These funds will be used to provide additional funding for public safety in support of <br />Neighborhood Quality. Funds will be used for technology and equipment, training, and <br />crime prevention initiatives. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br /> <br />· A local match of $18,823 is required for the FY 2004. There is no obligation from the <br />City once the grant ends. <br /> <br /> <br />
