April 5, 1994 <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting or, the City Council held on Tuesday, <br />April 5, 1994, there were present: <br /> <br /> Mayor Gloria O. Webb, Vice Mayor Lee E. King, Johnny M. <br />Clemons, John H. Eppereon, Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., James C. <br />Hawks, Cameron C. Pitts, V. Wayne Orton, City Manager, Stuart <br />E. Katz, City Attorney. <br /> <br />94-107 The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be <br />held in the City Manager Conference Room, 6th floor of City <br />Hall, 801 Crawford Street, at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 5, <br />1994, for the purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br /> In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an <br />Executive Session. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Epperson, and seconded by Mr. King to go <br />into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section <br />2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the following: <br /> <br /> (1) Discussion or consideration of the use or disposal of <br />real property in the downtown portion of the City for public <br />purpose, as permitted under Subsection (A) (3); <br /> <br /> (2) Consideration of a personnel matter involving the City <br />Manager's staff, as permitted under Subsection (A) (1); <br /> <br /> (3) Consultation with the City Attorney and briefing by <br />staff pertaining to a legal matter regarding the probable <br />litigation involving the ABEX site. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. King, and seconded by Mr. Hawks, pursuant to <br />Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to <br />the best of the Council member's knowledge during the <br />immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: <br /> <br /> (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from <br />open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of <br />Information Act, and <br /> <br /> (2) Only such public business matters as were identified <br />in the motion by which the Executive Session was convened, were <br />heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City <br />Council. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> On motio~meeting adjourned at 6:15 p.m. <br />APPROVED -~l~ <br /> <br /> · Webb <br />Mayor <br /> <br />well P~ttman, CMC/AAE <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
