325 ADrll 11, 1994 At a Called Meeting of.the City Council held on Monday, April 11, 1994, there were present: Vice Mayor Lee E. King, Johnny M. Clemons, John H. Epperson, Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., Jsanes C. Hawks, Cameron C. Pitts, V. Wayne Orton, ~City Manager, Stuart E. Katz, City Attorney. 94-108 - The following call for the meeting was read: "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City Council Chamber, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 Crawford Street, at 5:00 p.m., Monday, April 11, 1994, for the purpose of a Public Work Session. In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an Executive Session. By order of the Mayor." 94-109 The following item was discussed in the Public Work Session: 1. Water Pilot Treatment Plant Motion by Mr. Epperson, and seconded by Mr. Pitts to go into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the following: (1) Consideration of appointments to Boards and Commissions by the City Council as permitted under Subsection (A) (1); (2) Discussion or consideration of the acquisition or use of real property in the downtown and central portions of the City for public purpose, as permitted under Subsection (A)(3); (3) Discussion or consideration of the use or disposition of publicly held property in the downtown and central portions of the City and in Suffolk, as permitted under Subsection (A)(3); (4) Consultation with the City Attorney and briefings by staff regarding a legal matter involving Chapter 30 of the City Code pertaining to retirement. The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. Motion by Mr. Epperson, and seconded by Mr. Pitts pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council.member's knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and
