325 <br /> <br />ADrll 11, 1994 <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting of.the City Council held on Monday, <br />April 11, 1994, there were present: <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor Lee E. King, Johnny M. Clemons, John H. <br />Epperson, Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., Jsanes C. Hawks, Cameron C. <br />Pitts, V. Wayne Orton, ~City Manager, Stuart E. Katz, City <br />Attorney. <br /> <br />94-108 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be <br />held in the City Council Chamber, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 <br />Crawford Street, at 5:00 p.m., Monday, April 11, 1994, for the <br />purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br /> In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an <br />Executive Session. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br />94-109 The following item was discussed in the Public Work <br />Session: <br /> <br />1. Water Pilot Treatment Plant <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Epperson, and seconded by Mr. Pitts to go <br />into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 <br />of the Code of Virginia for the following: <br /> <br /> (1) Consideration of appointments to Boards and Commissions <br />by the City Council as permitted under Subsection (A) (1); <br /> <br /> (2) Discussion or consideration of the acquisition or use <br />of real property in the downtown and central portions of the <br />City for public purpose, as permitted under Subsection (A)(3); <br /> <br /> (3) Discussion or consideration of the use or disposition <br />of publicly held property in the downtown and central portions <br />of the City and in Suffolk, as permitted under Subsection <br />(A)(3); <br /> <br /> (4) Consultation with the City Attorney and briefings by <br />staff regarding a legal matter involving Chapter 30 of the City <br />Code pertaining to retirement. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Epperson, and seconded by Mr. Pitts pursuant <br />to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to <br />the best of the Council.member's knowledge during the <br />immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: <br /> <br /> (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from <br />open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information <br />Act, and <br /> <br /> <br />
