January t~: 1908. we herewith present plans for an office of Clerk of the Court and. recommend an adoption of the same. We further recommend that the proposed building be located on the Court House yard on a lin~ parallel and next to Court street and Fronting on High street; and that you appoint a committee to of Norfolk County to obtain their permission for building on wait on the Board of Supervisors Court House ici. Our attention has been called to frequent robberies of stalls in the Vegetable Market. that these stalls are open to where the roof of the market comes down to the sides makes it thieves to get into them. As the chairman stated that the plans presented were not comolete they were sent back to the Committee for completion and for specifications to accompany them, while an appropriation not in ex- cess of $15,000 was referred to the Joint Finance Committee for the building. Gentlemen:--Your ALmshouse Committee respect~ully renorts eon- cerning the following matters referred to the Joint Al~house Committee by the two branches of Court- oil November 19th and 20th: To advertise for bids to supply the Almshouse with medicines, clothing and provisions for the next fiseal year. We report that we have so advertised and have received the following bids therefor: To supply provisions--Prom Ellenor & Armentrout For I. C. Brir~ley 1,15~.60, I. C. B~lr~ley being the lower bidder to supply provisions it is recommended that award for the same be made to him. To supply clothing--Prom Levy & Jacobs (the only bid received): suit~ of clothes for White men, $7.50 each " " " '" Colored men, 5.50. Top shirts, $6 per dozen. Drawers and. Undershirts, $6 per dozen each. Seeks, $1 per dozen pairs~ Hats for White men~ $i each. " " Colored men, 75 cents each. Suspenders, 22 cents pe~ pair. It is recommended that award to supply the above named artieies be made to Levy ~ Jacobs.
