<br />Resolved. ~hat The Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized to renew a note for ten thousand
<br />($t0,000) dollars in the ~erchants and Farmers Bank. and a note for three thousand ($3,0~0) dollarS_in
<br />the ~ ef Portsmouth,~J~ly~iS~lg08; and the said notes to said amount are tG be renewed upon the
<br />same terms and conditions as were proposed by the several banks and adopted by.the Oity 0oundil Jan~

<br />banks to amount of twelve hundred ($1~200) dollars, to meet a request of the School Board for such
<br />amount June 11, 1907, the same being necessary for pay of teachers, de. for September, October, No-
<br />vember and December of the following session; and the sa. id notes to said amoun~ are to be made up-
<br />on the same terms and conditions as were proposed by the several banks ~nd adopted by the 0ity Coun-

<br /> A communications was read from Harry A. Brlzd~ley, attorney, in which he asked about the progress
<br />made as to ~ ordinance for the establishment of a PlumberS? Board. The com~un~_eation ~as ~f~erward
<br />ordered to file.

<br /> Requisitions on the City by the Auditor of Public Accounts, to amount of $522.12, to pay the
<br />Oity's proportion of salary of Oircuit Judge, and of $1,250, to pay salary of 0orporation Judge, for
<br />the year beginning February l, 1909, were referred to the Joint Finance 0o~ittee.

<br /> A commuunieation was read from the Board of Eealth in which it requested a relief from the un-
<br />sanitary condition of the section bounded by Glasgow, Green and Grace streets, and that its commu-
<br />nication be referred to the Street a~d Finance committees Jointly.

<br /> On motion, the communication w~s referred to ~he Joint Street 0ommittee,

<br /> An application of the Treasurer for a thirty days~ leave of absence was grzn%ed.

<br /> On motion of Nr. Eawks, the Joint Sewer Committee was authorized to advertise for bids.to sewer
