A delegation of about thirty preceded to WaShington, and, through the efforts of our

representative, Er. ~aynard, we were enabled to interview the President, Secretary of the Navy and
Assistant Secretary of the ~avy. Both the President and the Secretary of the Navy seemed to be im-
pressed with the justice of our claims as presented by the committee and by Er.
