Ma~ 4, i994 357 ~ At a Called Meeting of the City Council held on Wednesday, May 4, I994, there were present: Mayor Gloria O. Webb, Vice Mayor Lee E. King, Johnny M. Clemons, John H. Epperson, Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., James C. Hawks, Cameron C. Pitts, V. Wayne Orton, City Manager, Stuart E. Katz, City Attorney. 94-140 - The following call for the meeting was read: "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City Council Chamber, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 Crawford Street, at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 4, 1994, for the purpose of a Public Work Session on the proposed operating budget for fiscal year 1994/95. In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an Executive Session. By order of the Mayor." 94-141 - The following item was discussed in the Public Work Session: 1. Discussion of the proposed operating budget. Motion by Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. Epperson to go into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the following: (1) Dis6ussion or consideration of the salaries of City Council ~ppointees as permitted under Subsection (A) (1) . The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. Motion by Mr. Epperson, and seconded by Mr. Griffin pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council member's knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and (2) Only such public business matters as Were identified in the motion by which the Executive Ses'sion was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the meetingiby the City Council.
