M.. to consider-- <br /> The filling of a vacancy on the Board of Quarantine Commissioners from the City of Port~mouth, <br />caused by decease of William Schroeder. <br /> A report of the Joint Finance Committee on the 'budget" for year 1909. <br /> A report of the Joint Finance Committee recommending the purchase of a Decarlo Incinerator. <br /> A report of the Joint Finance Committee recommending acceptance of bid of W. S. Huybe~rt for <br />removal of garbage. <br /> A report of the Joint Finance Committee recommending an appropriation of $2,200 to pave King <br />street, between 0curt and Middle. <br /> A report of the Joint Ferry Oommittee with recommendation for lease of the Norfolk County Fern <br />ties. <br /> A report of the Joint Light Committee on lighting the City. <br /> Immediately following the joint session .the Common Oounc~t will meet to consider such matters <br />as may have been adopted in saidJoint session. <br /> (Signed) C.W. Hatton having received a majority of the votes cast the Chair declared hdm to be elec- <br /> <br />ted. <br /> The "budget' for 1909 was nex~ called for; but the chairman of the ~inance Committee stated <br /> <br />that the "budget" was not quite prepared for presentation, and asked for permission to withdraw it <br /> <br />and bring it up at the next regular meeting of the 0ommon 0ouncil. The request was granted. <br /> <br />Reports of the Joln~ Finance Committee recommending purchase of a Decarie Incinerator and ac- <br /> <br />ceptance of bid of W. S. Ruybert for removal of garbage, were deferred without further action to <br /> <br />the Oomm0n Oouncil, the Board of Aldermen having passed on said matters January 20th, <br /> <br />A report of the Joint Finance Oommittee recommending an appropriation of $2,200 to pave King <br /> <br />.street, between Court and Middle. <br /> <br /> The recommendation was adoptedwithout objection. <br /> <br />A report of the Joint Ferry Committee with recommendation for lease of th'e Norfolk County <br /> <br />riss. <br /> The conditions of the proposed lease having been read the rules were suspended to hear from <br /> <br />representatives of the Berkley Ward of Norfolk concerning a petition which they wished to present. <br /> <br /> The conditions of the proposed lease were then read again, when, on motion of Mr. Montague, <br />section FIRST relating to Rates of Toll. was passed by temporarily. <br /> <br /> Section S~OND concerning Schedule o~ Trips was discussed pro and con ~y Messrs, Montague, <br />Clover, Watts, Hall, Jno.
