158 <br /> <br />April 13, 1909. <br /> <br /> It is recommended that the Treasurer Be authorized to borrow the amo~mt asked for, and that the <br />following resolution be adopted therefor: <br /> <br /> Resolved, That the Treasurer be ~nd he is hereby authorized to borrow fifteen thousan~ ($i5,000) <br />dollars for 90 days of 0fry f~nds deposited in the.~erehants & Farmers B~ ~nd the Bank of Ports- <br />mouth, to meet current expenses of the City for April, 1909. <br /> <br /> Eeferred by the two branches of Co~ncil January 12th a~d 20th. <br /> <br /> An application of the First National Bank for one-third of the 0ity deposit of funds, dc. <br /> <br /> It is reco~ended ~hat in future one-third ~f Oity funds be deposited in the First Nati6n~l <br />Ba~k, on'the same conditions as such funds are now deposited in the Ne~chants & Farmers bank and in <br />~he Bs~zk of Portsmouth. <br /> <br /> A request Df the Behest Board for ~ increase of salary o£ the Oity Superintendent of Schools. <br /> <br /> ~e regret that we can not recommend at this time the increase~ requested. <br /> <br /> It is further ree6mmended that the 0ity Attorney be instm~cted to take such steps as may be ne- <br />cessary to secure to the 0ity the taxes of the annexed territory for the year of 1909. <br /> <br />territory. <br /> <br />$20 per mon~hBe appropriated for mainten~uce of the Rescue Fdre 0ompany in the ~exed <br /> <br />an appropriation of $165 be made to curb ~d gutter the south side of Nelson' street, be- <br /> <br />tween Third and Fourth. <br /> <br />(Signed) Jno.
