He states that the ~ompetitive bidders had agreed that his bid should be considered; that he was delayed in putting in his bid by his inability to find Mr. S~ T. ~ontague to whom he had a letter of intro- duction; ~nd that the 0itywill smve money by 2e-advertising. Inthis connection we beg leave to State that the competitive bidders reluctantly consented to considering Er. Ma~r~der's-bid. throw- ing the responsibility of injustice on the Fire Gommittee.
