An a~propriation of $2,501o22 for the p~blie schools in the old wards of the City, until Jul~ It is recommended that $2~000 be appropriated therefor. The Committee have concludad that it would be of ~dvantmge to the City net to tom'mud the $50,000 of Fifth ,~mrd Bonds Becoming due July~l, 190~, as provided by ord&na~oe ~dopted ~larch ~th and 16th, but to take them up with e~sh; and it is therefore recommended that said bonds be so ~aken up and paid for out of receipts from the Norfolk County ~er~ies. It is also reoonm~ended that all cOSt to the~ City in connection with appraisement of the Ferries Be paid for out of Ferry receipts; and to provide for Such cost and to take up the $50~000 of bonds $50,000 Be bo~rowed~ from ~he Me'chants & Fam~ers Bank, ~he Bank of Portsmouth and the First Nation- al Bank, aud that the City receipts from the Ferries be hypothecated for the amount borrowed. As authorized to do the Co~mmittee have advertised for 140,000 of pax~ng Bricks and have received the following bids therefor: From M. J~ D~Jmnond~ at $1~.50 and $1T.50 bet E, S. P.
