C. <br /> <br /> The chairman of the Committee on the Parker ~ater Bill then made a verbal report s~ting that <br />his committee ~d meter, i~rker the evening before and had discussed with him the objectionable <br />features of the bill. but after further explanation of the objections by er. Barker, a m~jority of <br />the Committee seemed inclined to inst~ct him to advance the bill .without s~endment. <br /> However. as the Committee had been instructed to request er. Parker te ~mend his bill in sev- <br />eral particulars, it was agreed that they could not pursue a different course in the matter without <br />bein~ so instructed by the Councils; and hence it was concluded to ask for a joint session of the <br />branches to lay the p~opositien before them. <br /> <br /> Er. P~rker. who was present, was called on to expiainhis bill. Hedid so quite fully;~and af- <br />ter some discussion of the m~tter between him and members of,the body, ~ v0~e w~s catle~ for on the <br />question, =to accept the P~rke= Wmter Bill withou~ <br /> The vote stood 21 ayes to 2nays. ~ereupon~ Er. ~ontague.moved to make She action ~f the body <br />unanimous, and it w~s so voted. <br /> On motion, it v~s also further ordered that the Clerk certify to Mr. P~rker the ~ction of the <br />body, and also r~re ~ne same to Er. ~esner. <br /> <br />On motion, adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br />
