A request of the Board ef Health for em ordinance to require the fkumig~tion of second-hand cloth- ing~ shoes, &e., offered for sale. It is recommended that the Board of Health be requested to outline an ordinance to cover ~he matter. An ordinance ~o require express and telegraph companies to deliver l~ck~ges and messages in the Sixth and ~eventh wards, without meJring additional charges ~herefor. Progress. An ordinance to regulate street parades. ~e report that this matter is covered by police regulations, A request'of the National Board of Fire Underwriters for an ordinance to prohibit fireworks on the F~urth of July. This matter is covered by police regulations and under control of the ~ayor, Referred by Board of Aldermen April 19th. A~vis~bility of repealing the ordinance requiring the payment of a tax by householders in the Fifth Waxd for the remov~i ef night soil therefrom. It is recommended that any property holder in the Fifth Ward who may connect his premises with the sewerage system during theyear 1910 shall, upon mpplic~tion therefor, have ref-umded him by ~he City the amount he m~y have paid in night soil tax for that yaar, provided the applied%ion be accompanied by a certifi~te of the plumber who made the connection that suwh premises were so con- nested in 1910. Referred by Common ~ou=cil Ma=eh 8th. An ordinance to require occupants of s~ores and dwellings to keep the sidewalks in front of the premises olean. We deem suehan ordinance to be uuadvisable. To require telephone and other business wires on the streets to be put under ground. It is recommended that ~etion on this matter be deferred until the Joint Finance ~o~fttee shall report on, "the advisability of the ~ity owning conduits for wires un,er ground on the streets."
