<br /> A petition of the 0bombers Fire Company for electric lights in its engine room.
<br /> The 0ommittee have asked for bids to do this~work and have received the accompanying bids
<br />from Geo, N. Bell and N..~, Richardson: (See bids on separate sheets).
<br /> Geo. N. Bell being the lower bilder for the work. it is recommended that award for thesame be
<br />made to him.
<br />
<br />A request of the Board of Health that a new concrete floor be laid in the Seaboard market house.
<br /> Progress as to s~me.
<br />
<br />A request of the Bo~rd of Health to have the fish market flushed out daily. Progress.
<br />
<br /> To report at the next meetings of the Council for providing sleeping quarters for paid men of
<br />~the Chambers ~$re Gompauy.
<br /> It is recommended that the rpom now used by the Stonewall Oamp be occupied as sleeping quar-
<br /> ters for ~id men of the ohambers Fire ~ ·
<br /> ~ompany, that $500. be appropriated to fit up said quarters;
<br /> and that a room for Stonewall Gmmp be obtained e~sewhere, at an ~scertained cost of $500. per year.

<br /> S. P. Oast being the lowest bidder far the wood, it is recommended that award for same be made
<br />to him.

<br />of the GenerAl Assembly of Virginia, approved ~rch 2, l~10, entitled 'An act to authorize the City
<br />of Portsmouth' to issue bends to establish w~ter works ~o furnish a supply of water, and to create a
<br />board of commissioners to establi~ such system of water works.'"
