Bell and N..~, Richardson: (See bids on separate sheets). <br /> Geo. N. Bell being the lower bilder for the work. it is recommended that award for thesame be <br />made to him. <br /> <br />A request of the Board of Health that a new concrete floor be laid in the Seaboard market house. <br /> Progress as to s~me. <br /> <br />A request of the Bo~rd of Health to have the fish market flushed out daily. Progress. <br /> <br /> To report at the next meetings of the Council for providing sleeping quarters for paid men of <br />~the Chambers ~$re Gompauy. <br /> It is recommended that the rpom now used by the Stonewall Oamp be occupied as sleeping quar- <br /> ters for ~id men of the ohambers Fire ~ · <br /> ~ompany, that $500. be appropriated to fit up said quarters; <br /> and that a room for Stonewall Gmmp be obtained e~sewhere, at an ~scertained cost of $500. per year. <br /> <br />Referred by Oommon ~ounc~l September 13th. <br /> <br /> To provide a 500 pound bell for house of the A~mex 2ire Oompany, <br /> It is recommended that a bell be purchased for said house at a cost not in excess of $180, <br />provided the ~inauce Oommittee eau obtain the funds therefor. <br /> <br /> We r~Der~ further that we h~vamade the usual advertisement,for bids tO supply the seve~l City <br />depart~nente with goal ~. woo~ f~r the win~er and have received ~he following bids for same: <br /> From W. & ~. 2~rk~r, Wm. Der tonfor delivery in <br />the City ~nd $8~ ~er ton for delivery at the Almshouse; whi~e the Portsmouth 0cml & Ice Oomp~ny~will <br />deliver cud store~ the whole 74 tons at $7,25 per ton. <br /> ~It is recommended, therefore, that ~ward for the co~l be made to the Portsmouth 0col & Ice <br />as ~he lowest bidder for same. <br /> B. 2. 0as~ bid $~-75; the Portsmouth Coal & Ice 0ompany, $7; and R. B. ~ilkins, $7, per cord, <br />to supply 25 cords of th~ best pine wood sawed to order and delivered. <br /> S. P. Holders to connect with the Oity seWe~ge system, and to repeal sections <br />261 ~d 263 of the Oity ordinances relating thereto." ~ <br /> <br /> WTo authorize ~he issue of $600,000. of bonds to be kno~ as '~ater Bonds,' pursuant to an act <br />of the GenerAl Assembly of Virginia, approved ~rch 2, l~10, entitled 'An act to authorize the City <br />of Portsmouth' to issue bends to establish w~ter works ~o furnish a supply of water, and to create a <br />board of commissioners to establi~ such system of water works.'" <br /> <br />"To amend and re-ordaim section 492 of the ordinances in relation to con,roots and bonds." <br /> <br /> To authorize the Treasurer to renew no~es in the several City banks to amount of $21,000, .due <br />November l~, 1910. <br /> <br />All of the above were con~_rred in exeept to authorize the Treasurer to renew notes for $2!~000; <br /> <br /> <br />
