Progress as to same. <br /> <br /> Advisability of fitting up o~fiOes on the north side of the Oity Hall for the Auditor and the <br />Oity Engineer, and of turning over the rooms now occupied by these officers into sleeping quarters <br />for paid men of the 0hambers Fire Oompamy. <br /> It is recommended that office room be provided elsewhere for all officers in the 0ity Hall, <br />as a means to obtain room for the said firemen. <br /> <br />To lay a concrete floor in the Sewer Power House. <br /> It is recommended that the floor be laid and that Arthu~ Flynn be employed to 'do <br />cost of $96.82. <br /> Referred by Oommon Oouncil September 13th. <br /> <br />the work <br /> <br /> To see about rent.for the house ommed by the 0ity,on~ashington street, extended. <br /> We have directed the Olerk to write to the former agent for rent of said house and instruct <br />him ~o turn over the rent of it hereafter to the 0ity, and to render an account of such rent since <br />the house has become the property of the ~ity. <br /> <br />Referred By Board of Aldermen September 20th. <br /> <br /> A proposition of the Southern Bell Telephone Oompany to have the Oity co~ect its free phones <br />furnished by the Oompany, ~ith the telephone exchange. <br /> ~e have conferred with the agent of the Bell ~elephone Gompany, and recommend that the <br />lowing disposition be made of such phones: <br /> One phone in the Ma~or~s office; two in the 0ity Hall, with four extensions; one a~ the Alms- <br />house; one aS the Oak Grove cemetery; one a~ the ~ewerage Power House; one a~ the Chambers' engine <br />house; one at the Independent engine house; one at the Park View engine house; one at the ~n~ex en- <br />gine house; and one at the Union engine house--a total of ll phones and 4 extensions. <br /> <br />(Signed) S.B.
