<br /> Gentlemen:~¥ed~ ~oint Sewerage Committee respectfully reports
<br />the Br~an & Company oomplet~ed their contract for work in the-Fift~ ward, and the Sohone Company, to
<br />supply ejectors, de., for such work, some time ago; and that all of said work is now re~dy for use,
<br /> According to the agreement between the City and Bry~ & 0ompa~y,~ they were 201 days behind their
<br />contract time for completing the work, for which there is a forfeit exacted of $20. per day or
<br />~d aooording to ~reement wi~h the Schone ~ompany they were 52 days behind time in suppling ejec-
<br />tors, for which ~hers is ~ ~or~emt of $20, per day or $640,00,
<br /> It may be said in excuse, however, for failure of Bryan & Company to oompiete their con~raot on
<br />time, that they met with un~ooked for mifficulties ~in the work (some of the trouble emused by the
<br />Cit~ itself)~and beoause of these facts ~nd because, more0ve~ t~e work wa~ eompitte~ before
<br />~a~. was ~p~eD~red te make ~e of it, it is reco~ended that the~ p~alty of $~.~020. be. not exacted
<br />sai~ Company; and it is race--ended f~ther that ~ balance due them of $967.70 which was held up on
<br />the last pa~ent, ~e paid also.
