The Auditor wrote for information as to how ce_tamn bills allowed by the AUditing Committee shou!d be paid. The communication was referred to the Fin~uce Committee. The Keeper of the Cemeteries made the following report of lots and graves sold in the Oak Grove Cemetery dur_ng the month of February, 19!l February 2, to W. H. Griff~n mud P. A. Person, No, 330, Ave. D. 18, . Robert Wood, an adult's grave in No, 916, Ave. ~. 23, C. ~. ~egin!ey, NoJ 636, Ave. G. I~EW BUSIh~SS. . Seventh Ward Local Board made known that H. J. ~adrey had _es~_gned as a member of said Board. The resignation was adcepted and the filling of the vacancy was referred to a Joint Ses- sion of the two branches. The its bond said Seventh Ward Board requested also an appropr_at~on of $35,576.25, fund, for street improvements. The request was referred to the Joint Fznance Comm_t~ee. out of proceeds of A commuuiaation from the Gommaudaut of the Navy Yard conaezu~ing the cond~.zon of drains the Navy. Yard was referred to the Seventh Uard Local Board. On motion of Mr'. Parker, the Joint Fire Gommmttee was instructed to obtain all the informa- tion it could in connection with said communication,~aud, for this Farpose,to summon the Chief amd Assistant Chiefs of the Nepartmmat as wi~uesses, The Sixth Uard Local ~oard, through its representatives on the Council, presented a topograph- ical map cf the ward, drafted by engineer, Bascome Sykes, and requested that sa~d map be adopted~as am authorized map of the ward. ~ereupon, Mr. Hawks ~[ov.ed that the map be.adopted: that it be recorded in the office of Clerk of the Court: and that the Joint 0rdi_~.ance ~omm~ttee be instructed to prepare an ordinance for re Gutting all street work done in the ~ixth ~mrd to be done in accords.nee with said map a~ud its compauying profile. ~he motion was adopted. The said- request was referred to a'Joint Session of the two branches of 0ouncil. able Mr. Brz._son stated that he had called five meetings of the Committee on Rules without being to obtain a quommum of the same, and he offered his resiguation as Chai~ of the Cow~ttee. The resignation was noz accepted. The Chairman of the 0emetery Committee asked for authority to advertise for bids to whitewash the Oemete~ walls. The authority was granted. Er~ Brinson asked ~oout changes that the Btreet Committee had made in the program for paving streets; and stated that the Co~w,~ttee had no authority to m~e such ch~uges, The Chairman of the Street Co~ttee insisted ~hat he had been authorized by the Council to make the changes. On motion, it was ordered that this matter lie on the t~ole until the next meeting of the body, and that the Clerk be instructed to look up the records for same. On motions, the following other matters were referred to-~ Finance Oomm~ttee-- A request of the Board of Hea!t~ for ~u appropriation, mf $812.25 tc re-i~ourse~it for that amount paid ~ring January and February for removal of garbage; and also an appropriation of $935 to meet its s~dry necessary expenses. A request of the Park View ~. E. Church, South, ~o be relieved from payment of City taxes on its parsonage. A bill of the Clerk of the Court for $3.50. A b~ll of F. F. V. Staples for $12.O5. A bi!! of the Coroner to amount of ~37.50 for services rendered during December and January. A bill of C. N. ~arkham to .amount of $105 for examination of records. A ~etition of policeman, H. A. Shannon, to be paid 8145 for $8 days lost from duty during Feb- uary and ~arch, 1911, and for medical attendance. A petition of policeman, 0. H. Only, to be paid 8~?.50 on accounz of 14 days lost from duty in February, 1911, by reason of sickness. A petition of policeman, Louis C. Oalvert, to ~e paid for 24 days lost from duty dnring Febr- uary and ~arch, 19ii, on account of sickness, mo ~mount of $60.00.
