On motion~ the bills and req"~est.weme referred to the Joint Wmter Committee ~nd the Sixth Ward Loeal Improvement Board. A eomar~niea~ionwas read from a "speei~l Committee" in Ifgnohburg, appointed to o~side~ the "eom mission form oF government for oiliest" with re.est that the ~itYof Portsmouth appoint a like eo~ mittee to see if an a~eement oannot be reaohed as to the best po!icy to p%~sue to moeomplish the our- pose desired. Whereupon: on motion: it was ordered that a eommittee of Ti~e be ~ppointed to eonsider the osition oF the eommittee f~om Lynehburg. ~. Willia~ moved that the Joint St~ee~"Oommittee be forested to consider the advisability of grading and paving North street, between Pearl and Cooke. The mo~ion was adopted.
