<br /> The report having been read~ Mr..Davis said he objected to the recommendation of the Com~.ittee
<br /> in regard to. the Police Justice, because the matter was in the hands of the Ordinance Committee and
<br /> he thought that an ordinance for ~stablishing said office should precede an appropriation for same;
<br /> but after some discussion of the matter, the recommendation of the Committee in regard to same, and
<br /> the other recommendations also, were adopted, and by the following vote:

<br /> To ascertain whether the City has enough old stone on hand to gutter and curb the east side of
<br />Third street, from Harrison to Wythe, and to curb and gutter the south side of Wythe street, from
<br />the east side of Court to the east side of Third; also cost of d$ing said work with old stone.
<br /> The City Engineer reports that there is not sufficient old stone on hand with which to do
<br />tha work. We,therefore, recommend that the amount recommended in our previous report for this work
<br />be made available, so that as much as may be necessary may be used to complete same.
<br />
<br /> To examine and make report concerning the City Engineer taking charge of all s'treet work done
<br />in the
<br /> As the City ordinances clearly define~ the authori~ d£~'the City Engineer we deem it un-
<br />necessary to .make any recommendation therefor.

<br /> A petition of sundry property owners on Armstrong street for a grano!ithic sidewalk on the west
<br /> side of said street, from Glasgow to Holladay. Progress as Zo same.

<br /> Authorized to take such action as may be necessary to ascertain the approximate cost of extend-
<br /> ing Hatton ~treet, from London to High. Progress.
<br />
<br /> A bill of the Sixth Wa_rd-to amount of ~li6.B~, as the City's proportion of cost for paving at
<br />the intersection of Chestnut and County streets.
<br /> As t~he City is now paving the roadway of Chestnut street, a large portion of which is with-
<br />in the Sixth Ward, with no expense to said Ward, we recommend that the bill be not allowed. If, how-
<br />ever, the Ward should contend for the amount and the same be allowed, we then recommend that. said
<br />Ward be charged with its proportion of cost of the paving.
