AugUst 8~ 1994 At the Public Hearing Meeting of the City Council held on Monday, August 8, 1994, theDe were present: Mayor Gloria O. Webb, Vice Mayor Johnny M. Clemons, Bernard D. Griffin, James T. Martin, Cameron C. Pitts, P. Ward Robinett, Jr., V. Wayne Orton, City Manager, Stuart E. Katz, City Attorney. Vice Mayor Clemons opened the meeting with prayer which was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. The Mayor called the meeting to order and welcomed all in attendance. 94-317 - Public Hearing on a code amendment= (a) CA-94-08 CITY CODE AMENDMENT - A proposal to amend Article IV of the Historic District ordinance by adding "restaurants" to Historic Limited Office district with a use permit. Leslie French, 208 Glasgow Street, representing the Olde Towne Civic League, spoke in opposition of the code ~unendment. Martha Creecy, 317 Dinwiddie Street, spoke in opposition to the code amendment. Alan Gollihue, 216 North Street, spoke in opposition to the code amendment. James Prevette, 929 S. Spigel Drive, Virginia Beach, provided information on a proposed restaurant use at London Boulevard and Middle Street. Star Prevette, 5089 Gatehouse Way, Virginia Beach, provided information on a proposed restaurant use at London Boulevard and Middle Street. Mike Thornton, 5089 Gatehouse Way, Virginia Beach, provided information on a proposed restaurant use at London Boulevard and Middle Street. Motion by Mr. Martin, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, CA-94-08 back to the Planning Commission for further consideration, and was adopted by unanimous vote. to refer On motion meeting was adjourned at 8:41 p.m. Mayor City Clerk CMC/AAW.
