AugUst 8~ 1994 <br /> <br /> At the Public Hearing Meeting of the City Council held on <br />Monday, August 8, 1994, theDe were present: <br /> <br /> Mayor Gloria O. Webb, Vice Mayor Johnny M. Clemons, <br />Bernard D. Griffin, James T. Martin, Cameron C. Pitts, P. Ward <br />Robinett, Jr., V. Wayne Orton, City Manager, Stuart E. Katz, <br />City Attorney. <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor Clemons opened the meeting with prayer which <br />was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br /> The Mayor called the meeting to order and welcomed all in <br />attendance. <br /> <br />94-317 - Public Hearing on a code amendment= <br /> <br />(a) CA-94-08 <br /> <br />CITY CODE AMENDMENT - A proposal to amend Article <br />IV of the Historic District ordinance by adding <br />"restaurants" to Historic Limited Office district <br />with a use permit. <br /> <br />Leslie French, 208 Glasgow Street, representing the Olde Towne <br />Civic League, spoke in opposition of the code ~unendment. <br /> <br />Martha Creecy, 317 Dinwiddie Street, spoke in opposition to the <br />code amendment. <br /> <br />Alan Gollihue, 216 North Street, spoke in opposition to the <br />code amendment. <br /> <br />James Prevette, 929 S. Spigel Drive, Virginia Beach, provided <br />information on a proposed restaurant use at London Boulevard <br />and Middle Street. <br /> <br />Star Prevette, 5089 Gatehouse Way, Virginia Beach, provided <br />information on a proposed restaurant use at London Boulevard <br />and Middle Street. <br /> <br />Mike Thornton, 5089 Gatehouse Way, Virginia Beach, provided <br />information on a proposed restaurant use at London Boulevard <br />and Middle Street. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Martin, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, <br />CA-94-08 back to the Planning Commission for further <br />consideration, and was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />to refer <br /> <br />On motion meeting was adjourned at 8:41 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br />CMC/AAW. <br /> <br /> <br />
