There net being a sufficient number present to vote on reports requiring a recorded vote, Auditing, Finance, Public Property, and Fire reports were passed by temporarily. and special meet- the Lights-- Hon. Board of Aldermen. Gentlemen:-- Your Light Committee respectfully reports herein concerning the following matters referred tlc the Joint Light Committee September 9, July 8~ May 20, and Febraar~ Ii, 1915: Referred by Oommon 0otmcil September 9th. Advisability of a light at the co~ner of North and Effingham streets. We report that the Committee is not inclined to place a light at this corner, little passage through that point and very few people to be served. Advisability of a light at the co~ner of First and Lincoln streets. We recommend that a light be so placed. Referred by Common C~ncii July 8th. as there is Advisability of a light Advisability of a light at Green..and Griffin streets. Progress as to same. Referred by Board of Aldermen May 20th. at the corner of Green and Emmett streets. A petition of A. E. Bess and sundry others for a light at the corner ~treets. Gentlemen:-~ Your Street Committee respectfully reports here- in concerning the following matters referred to the Joint Street Committee September 9-16 and Aug. 1~-19, 191~:' Referred by Common Council September 9th. Communications from F. J. McGuire to the Mayor, and from the City Engineer to Chairman of the Street Committee, concerning the pavement on upper High street. It is recon~ended that all properly approved bills of F. J. McGuire against the City be paid, after he shall have signed a contract and given bond for the work~ and that the City Engineer be instructed to go ahead with the paving of upper High street as far west as the west side of Seven- th avenue. A communication from the Sixth Ward Board objecting to work on Pearl street in the Seventh Nard being done at the expense of the Sixth Ward. We report that this matter has passed out of the hands of the Committee. A petition of the Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Co. for permission to lay a cable and build a manhole at the foot of Crawford street. We report that this petition was allowed by the Common Council and the Board of Aldermen at special meetings September A bill of F. J. NcGuire against the Sixth Ward Board to amount cT $1Z,479.15, for contract work on upper High street. It is recommended as recommended above, that when a contract with the City has been made with sufficient bond accompanying, the bill be paid, if properly approved.
