<br /> Section i6. Term of Office. The said Civil and Patios Justice so appointed by the City
<br />Council of the City of Portsmouth as hereinbefore provided shall hold office for the term of
<br />four years from the date of his appointment, which, said appointment shall be made at such time
<br />as said. City Council may, in its discretion, deem to be wise and expedient. Said ~ivil and
<br />Police Justice shall hold office until his successor is appointed and qualified; provided, how~
<br />ever~ no appointment shall be made for less than four years.

<br /> Reported having examined bills agaimst the City for January, 19t~ and they

<br />recommended the payment of the same to the fqllowing amounts: $$~521.59 for the City proper,
<br />$1,466.45 for the Sixth Ward, and $9,461.47 for the Seventh Ward.
