Common Council. <br /> <br />Gentlemen:-- Tour <br /> <br />Finance Committee respectfully reports <br /> <br />herein concerning the following matters referred to the Joint Finance Committee June 12-14-19, <br /> <br />May 14, and January 9, 191Z, and December 12: 1911: <br /> <br />Referred by Common Council June l~th. <br /> <br /> Advisability of issuing $600,000.00 of bonds for establishing a water plant, &c., for the <br />City. <br /> It is recommended that thirty-year bonds of the City of Portsmouth, bearing interest_ <br />at five per-cent per annum, and not exceeding in amount Six Hundred Thousand ($600,000.00) Dol <br />late, be authorized; said bonds to be sold in ~uch amounts and a% ~uch times as the Portsmouth <br />Water Commission mayrequest, and the proceeds arising from the sale of such bonds to be applied <br />to the construction of a municipal water plant. <br /> <br />Referred by Common Council June 14th. <br /> <br /> An appropriation to continue the present "White Way,~ pending the installation of the clus- <br />ter light system. <br /> It is recommended that a special appropriation of $200.00 be al~owed~fo~.thecontinu~ <br />ation of the "White Way" during June. <br /> <br /> · d <br /> $188.10 for a granolithic sidewalk on the east side of Butler street, from Ann:to A, an <br />$18.70 for a sidewalk entrance ~o Ann street school. <br /> It is recommended that speSi~s/~appropriatio~s to~.said amounts be allowed. <br /> <br /> $333.38 for a drain pipe and catch basin on one side of Fifth street, from Jefferson to <br />Fayette. <br /> It is recommended that a special appropriation to said amount be allowed. <br /> <br /> $320.30 for concrete combined curb and gutter on both sides of Fifth s~reet, from Jeffer- <br />son to Fayette. <br /> It is recommended that a special appropriation ~o said amount be allowed, <br /> <br /> $887. <br />yette. -- <br /> <br />10 for a granolithic sidewalk on the west side of Fifth street, from Jefferson to.
