<br /> "First. A recommendation of the Joint Finance Committee for awa~rd of sale of $275,000.00
<br />of City of Portsmouth bonds.
<br /> "Second. Recommended appropriations of the Finance Committee for delegates to Conventions
<br />at Alexandria, Va., and Buffalo~ N. Y.~ respectively.

<br /> Whereupon, the body went into an election of a President and Vice-President, and Mr. W.
<br />Corbitt was elected President and Jno. Howard Hall, Vice-President.
<br /> Then .it reconsidered its action for going into such election~ and decided to defer said
<br />election until its next regular meeting.

<br />On motion, the body adjourned for a Joint Session.

<br /> Mr. W. C. Corbitt was nominated for President and there being no other nomination, he was
<br />elected for a term of two years, beginning September 1, 191~, and by the following vote:
