M., to elect a President and Vice-President of the body for ~wo years <br />from September l, 19lB. <br /> "Following this meeting there will be a Joint Session of the two branches to consider: <br /> "First. A recommendation of the Joint Finance Committee for awa~rd of sale of $275,000.00 <br />of City of Portsmouth bonds. <br /> "Second. Recommended appropriations of the Finance Committee for delegates to Conventions <br />at Alexandria, Va., and Buffalo~ N. Y.~ respectively. <br /> <br />"Very truly, <br /> "0. W. Board of:.Aldermen. <br /> <br /> Whereupon, the body went into an election of a President and Vice-President, and Mr. W. <br />Corbitt was elected President and Jno. Corbitt was nominated for President and there being no other nomination, he was <br />elected for a term of two years, beginning September 1, 191~, and by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayss~Hail, Parrish, Hanvey, Moore, Baker, ~ohnson, Heath~ Brinson, Reynolds, Cross, <br /> Withy, Tyler, Hawks, Parker~ Cooke, Saunders, 18. <br /> (Mr. Corbitt excused ~om voting). <br /> <br /> Then Mr. Jno.
