<br /> On motion, the matter was referred to Public Property and Finance Committees.

<br /> Mr. Hawks moved that in the'paving of High street~ from~Chestnut street to the City limits,
<br /> which work is.in progress, that the paving be.extended eastward across Chestnut street, at a
<br /> c~et not exceeding.$ZO0,O~.
<br /> The motion was.adopted~ and the requested appropriation of SZO0.O0 was r%ferred to the
<br /> Finance Committee.

<br /> Er. Hall asked the Chairman of the S~reet Committee as to the status, &c., of the causeway
<br /> on First street.
<br /> The Chairman replied~that he had tried to obtain specifications for said work from the
<br /> City Engineer, b~t so far has not-been able to obtain them.
<br /> ~T~ereupon, the Clerk was directed to write .to the City Engineer and instruct him to
<br /> furnish the Chairman of the Street Committee with such specifications.

<br /> Er. Cooke scrod to.refer .to Street Committee to consider the improvement of condition of
<br />.Pearl street. The motion was adopted.

<br /> Er. Johnson moved that the Sixth Ward Board be requested to turn over to the Cemetery Com-
<br /> mittee any e~tra dirt the Board may have on hand from work on.High street, to be put in the Oak
<br /> Grove Cemetery. The motion was adopted.
