R, C. P. <br /> <br /> 267. <br />Marbh 10, 1914. <br /> <br /> M~. Beisel moved that the body go into an election to fill a vacancy on the Common Council <br />from the Sixth Ward, caused by resignation of H. H. Parker therefrom. The motion was adopted. <br /> ge then nominated Mr. S. B. Houghton for the position~ and there being no other nomi- <br />nations, he was unanimously elected and by ~the following vote.: <br /> Ayesr-Corbi..tt~ Hall, Hanvey, <br /> White, Herbert, Moore, Johnson, Goodman, Cross,. Tyler, Hawks, Bexsel, Cooke, IS. <br /> <br /> Mr. N2~ke moved to refer to' the Finance Committee to make available the balance of funds to <br />credit of Paving Bond Account, as he said it is the time of year when the Street Committee should <br />consider the matter of paving. The motion was adopted. <br /> <br /> The President of the body stated that material consisting of coupons and sundry papers in <br />the vault of the old Council Chamber should be examined~ with a view of destroying such as are <br />ueelese, amdjs~ggeeted that the President of the two bodzee and the Clerk be made a committee for <br />this purpose. _On moti6n, the s~ggesticn was adopted. <br /> <br /> Nm. Johnson ~eh~d to, have referred to the Finance Committee an appropriation of $150.00 <br />for fireman's parade this yea=. <br /> He was informed by the Chairman of the Finance Committee that such an apprbpriation <br />had been provided for in the Budget of 1914. <br /> <br />On motion, adjourned. <br /> <br />March S4, 1S14. <br /> <br />A special meeting of the Common Council was set for this ~ate to consider the following: <br /> <br />Budget of 'Anticipated Receipts and Expenditures for the Tear 1914; a report of the Joint Audit- <br />ing and Finance committees in re.rd to handling City bills; matter of lending ~o the Sixth and <br />Seventh Wards ~5,BO0.O0 for payment of past ~ue bills of said Wards; and a bill of !. C. B~ink- <br />ley for suppI~ing the Almshouse wmth provisions for February, 1~14. <br /> But a quorum not appearing within one-half hou~fter the time fixed for the meeting, those <br />present agreed to attend a meeting to be called for Tuesday, March $1st~ at the usual hour. <br /> <br />Those present,were: <br /> Messrs--Geo.
