<br /> On motion, the reading of minutes of the
<br />next regular meeting of the body.

<br />At this point, on motion, the rules were suspended to hear from the City Attorney and £t-
<br />torney Frank L. Crocker in regard to suit of E. ~. Barbour against the City for $~0,000., on ac-
<br />count of injuries received by him on First street.
<br />The City Attorney stated that the suit could be compromised by payment of $5,000.00 and he
<br />thoug$1~it would be to the interest of the City to make this comp~omis?~ ~ ' ..... t '

<br />thought the. City would be sa~ing money by affecting the comPrOmise.
<br /> Finazly, after a conszde~able discussion of the matter, the City Attorney was~instructed
<br />to effect a compromise in said suit for $5,000. and by the following vote:

<br />against Dalby, Nottingham Co. for removal of dead horses from its premises.
<br /> We have referred this matter to the City Attorney to bring suit against said Company.

<br /> A request of the Harbor Commissioners for an appropriation ~f $750. to cove=
<br />part of expenses of said Commission, 3rd and 4th quarters, 1914. _
<br /> It is recommended that said appropriation be allowed.
