Common Council-- <br /> Gentlemen:~- Your Joint Finance Committee to whom was referred, at <br />a special meetin~ of the Common Council. September EBth, a request of the Treasurer to make note~ <br />in the several Omty banks to amount of $20,O00Q'O0, to meet Current Expenses of the City for Sep- <br />tember, l@14, respectfully reconm~ends: <br /> That the Treasurer be, and he is hereby, authorized to <br /> <br />make notes in The Merchants' & Farmers' Bank, ~he Bank of Portsmouth, the Bank of Tidewater, and <br />The First National Bank of Portsmouth , to amount of Twenty Thousand Dollars ($EO,O00.O0), to <br /> <br />meet Current Expenses of the..City for September, <br /> <br />of the City for the current yea~. <br /> (Signed) <br /> <br />1914; said amount to be repaidfrcm revenues <br /> <br />J. Bu~gess stated th?t he understood the "Mayor's An- <br />nual Message for 1915"~ had been referred to the Finance Committee of the fo~mer Council for <br />publication and, as the Committee had ceased to be on September 1st without having concluded <br />the matter, he would move, if there were no objection thereto, that the ma~ter of publication <br />of said "Message, be referred to the Finance Committee. <br /> <br />There was no objection, <br /> <br />he so moved,' and his motion was adopted. <br /> <br />On motion, adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br />
