SeDter~ber 27, 1994 <br /> <br /> ~E IT FURTHER,RESOLVED'that the City Clerk be, and hereby <br />Ks, directed to ~end a copy of this resolution to the Governor <br />and the Secretary of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and to the <br />Portsmouth delegatio~ of the Virginia General Assembly." <br /> <br />Ayes: Clemons, Griffin, Hawks, Martin, Pitts, Robinett <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />94-385 - Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of a <br />motion to transfer $37,011 from the Grants Contingency Account <br />for renewal of the SEVAMP contract for FY 95. <br /> <br /> "I am pleased to inform you that the contract with the <br />Southeastern Virginia Areawide Model Program, Inc. has been <br />renewed. This contract provides $37,011 from Title III Older <br />Americans Act fund to Portsmouth for senior citizens services. <br /> <br /> Our goal for the year include health screenings, health <br />education, and health promotion for 140 senior citizens and <br />11,000 miles for transportation. The total program cost for the <br />period of October 1, 1994 through September 30, 1995 is $43,163 <br />which includes $6,152 in local in-kind match. No .local cash <br />match is required. <br /> <br /> I hereby recommend the approval of the program and the <br />transfer of $37,011 from the Grants Contingency Account to <br />support these services for our senior citizens." <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Griffin, and seconded by Mr. Hawks, to <br />transfer $37,011 from the Grants Contingency Account to support <br />services for the senior citizens, and was adopted by the <br />following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Clemons, Griffin, Hawks, Martin, Pitts, Robinett <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />94-386 Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of a <br />motion to award a design contract to Hoggard and Eure in the <br />aunount of $63,000 to enclose the drainage ditch in the median of <br />Cavalier Boulevard from Greenwood Drive to the City limits. <br /> <br /> "Funds are identified in the 1993-94 Capital Improvemen= <br />Plan to enclose the drainage ditch in the median of Cavalier <br />Boulevard from Greenwood Drive to the City limits. <br /> <br /> At this time, it is necessary to award the contract for <br />preparation of the constructio~ plans to Hoggard/Eure <br />Associates, the firm selected through the public procurement <br />process. <br /> <br /> The Director of Public Works recommends award of the design <br />contract to Hoggard/Eure Associates in the amount of $63,000. <br />Sufficient funds have previously been appropriated to complete <br />this work. I concur with the Director of Public Works and <br />reco~unend your approval of this item." <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Hawks, and seconded by Mr. Griffin, to award <br />a design contract to Hoggard and Eure in the amount of $63,000 <br />to enclose the drainage ditch in the median of Cavalier <br />Boulevard from Greenwood Drive to the City limits, and was <br />adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Clemons, Griffin, Hawks, Martin, Pitts, Robinett <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> <br />
