<br />side of Ann street, between Armstrong and Owens, out of unexpended funds in the Budget for the

<br />driver, on account of injuries received.-

<br /> List of coupons reported by the Auditor becoming due in 1915.
<br /> It is~recommended that the Auditor be instructed to report to the Committee monthly
<br />amounts of coupons becoming due.
<br /> A request of the Treasurer to borrow $~0,000~ for Current Expenses and $10,000. for School
<br />Expenses, ~o take care of January expenditures.
<br /> It is recommended that the request of the Treasurer be granted and that the following
<br />resolutions be adopted therefor:
<br /> Resolved, That the Treasurer be, and he is hereby, authorized
<br />to make notes in The Merchants & Farmers Bank, The Bank of Portsmouth, the Bank of Tidewater,
<br />and The First National Bank~of Portsmouth, to amount of Twenty Thousand Dollars ($~0;000.00), to
<br />meet Current Expenses of the City for the month of January, 1915; said amount to be repaid from
<br />r~venues of the City for the current year.

<br /> Resolved, That the Treasurer be, and he is hereby, authorized to make notes in The Merchants
<br />& Farmers Bank, The Bank of Portsmouth, the Bank o~f T~dewater, and The First National Bank of
<br />Portsmouth, to amount of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00), to meet School Expenses for January,
<br />1918; said amount to be repaid from revenues of the City for the current year.
<br />
<br /> And in this connection, it is recommended that the Trsasure~ hereafter notify the
<br />banks, in advance, that he will apply to the Council for such sums ag is desired to borrow.
<br />
<br /> A report of B. F. Long as License Inspector, with request that he be retained by the Com-
<br />mittee as such Inspector for such a number of morrths a~ter January let as it may deem advisable.
<br /> We recommend that it is inadvisable to retain Mr. Long as License Inspector at this
<br />time.
<br />
<br /> The School Board's Budget for the year beginning January 1, 1915, as adopted by said Board
<br />December 4~e1914.
<br /> report that this matter has been taken care of in the Budget for 1915.
<br />
<br /> A bill of Nicholas Brescia to amount of $18.00, for services to the City as witness and
<br />expenses in the case of the City of Portsmouth vs. Barbour, in the United States court.
<br /> It is recommended that said bill be paid, if advised by the City Attorney that it is
<br />due.
