<br /> "You will please call a Joint Session of the ~wo branches of City Council
<br />for Monday, April 19th, at 8 o'clock P. M., to consider the following matter:
<br /> "The License Tax Ordinance for year beginning May 1, 1915, and ending April 30, 1916.
<br /> ,Immediately following the Joint Session, the Common Council will meet in special ses-
<br />sion to consider such sections of the ordinance as may~ave been adopted in said Joint Session.
<br />

<br /> Whereupon, 'the License Tax O~dinance for 1915-16 was presented by the Joint Finance Oom-
<br />mittee.
<br /> Mr. Jos. S. Moore moved that the ordinance be read and objections noted to sections, but
<br />without further action on same until the whole ordinance had been read; then return, take up
<br />by secti6ns consecutively and adopt or reject. The motion was_adopted.
<br /> Then the ordinance was read, objections noted, and recurring, the various sections were
<br />acted on as follows:
<br /> Section 1, on motion of Mr. JOS. $. Moore, amended by inserting "6 pe~ cent
<br /> on the annual rental value," instead of "5 per cent on the annual rental value."
<br />
<br /> From Bections 1 to 5, adopted as presented.
<br />
<br /> Section 5. On motion of Mr. Reynolds amended by adding the following sub-section:
<br /> "Each
<br />non-resident person, firm or corporation conducting the business of plumbing~ steam or hot water
<br />fitting, or either, in addition to the merchant~ tax required by this ordinance, $50.00,"
<br />
<br /> From Sections 5 to 9, adopted as presented.
<br />
<br /> Section 9, on motion, amended by striking out the words "with privilege to sell tobacco
<br />and cigars."
<br />

<br /> Section 14. Mr. Whitehurst moved that the tax be made $150.
<br />motion was lost. Then the section was adopted as presented.

<br /> Section 38. Er. Markham moved to amend to read as follows: ~Each person, firm ? corpora-

<br />tomobiles Only, $~5; or agent for the sale of automobiles, ~esident or n~n-reS~dent, $~.00."
<br />Adopted. Mr. Reynolds moved to amend by making She tax on smivat~'Autcmobmies and mo~Ozcycles
<br />$~.50. The amendment was lost.
<br /> Then Mr. Burgess moved to make the tax on motorcycles $~.50. The motion was adopted.
<br />
<br /> Section 37. Mr. Laylor moved that the tax be made $E5. instead of $15.00. The motion was adopted and then the section as amended.

<br />Section ~8. Mr. Markham moved to amend by adding the words "cattle or stock."
<br /> The motion was adopted and then the section as embed.
