<br /> At a regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen February l?th there were present:

<br /> Eessrs--W.. Jones Williams, Vice-President, N. B. Langhorne, D. W. Ballentine, N. M. Adams, S. T. Nontague, L. H. Davis, O. P. Nutty, Henry Pile,
<br />
<br /> The roll having been called, M~. Ballentine stated' that he believed t~e members from the
<br />First and Second wa~ds were prepared to present names Of gentlemen for the Board to fill vacan-
<br />cies on the body from said Wards~ and he moved a suspension of rules to take up such election.
<br /> The motion was adopted.
<br /> Whereupon, Nr, Langhorne presented the name of W. E. Flournoy to fill the vacancy caused
<br />by resignation of N. Clarke Noore from the First Ward, and Nr. Ballentine, that of E. L. Barlow
<br />in place of C. N, Nalker from the Second Nard; ~nd there being no other nominations, they were
<br />elected unanimously and by the following vote, the vote being the same for each:

<br /> Then the Nayor being present, he qualified Nesers. Flouncy and Bamlow for office and they
<br />took seats in the body.

<br /> The minutes of regula~ meeting January ~0th, adjourned regular meeting January ~rd, and
<br />Joint Session Februax~y t4th, were read and were approved.
<br /> In this conneetion~ the Clerk stated that several records of~ past meetings of this
<br />body, though approved by the~ body, had not been signed by the deeeaseG President--he having
<br />overlooked signing the same.
<br /> Nhereupon, on motion of Mr. Davis~ the then Vice-President of the body was authorized
<br />to sign s~Id records, should he find them to be as approved by the body.
