<br /> The "call" havimg been read, Mr. Hall moved that the matters be ~ke~ up andconsidered
<br />in the order in which they are presented in the "call," and Mr. Davis~ to amend, that considera-
<br />tion of the Budget be taken up first, e~plaining that if this motion pmevaited he intended next
<br />to move that consideration of the Budget be deferred for te~ days in o~er to give the members
<br />of the Council an opportunity to examine it.
<br /> ~hereupon, Mr. Hall withdrew hie motion, and Nh. Davis~ motion to 'co'sider the Budget
<br />f~s~ was adopted.
<br /> Mr. Davis then moved that the consideration of the B~dget be deferred for ten days, and
<br />that it be printed and distributed among the members of Coumcil.
<br /> Mr. Narkham suggested that the Council had already adopted a motio~ fo~ prin{ing and dis-
<br />tributing the Budget, preceding action being taken on it by the body; bu~ the Chair held that
<br />~; Earkham w~s mistaken.
<br /> Whereupon, the motion by Mr. Davis was adopted.
<br />
<br /> The next matter taken up was the election of members of the School Board, the Sixth Ward
<br />Board~ and a Justice of the Peace from the Second Ward.
<br /> On motion of Mr. Hall, it was decided to take but one roll call each for members of the
<br />School Beard, Sixth Ward Boa_vd, and Justice of the Peace.
<br /> Whereupon, the following names were preeent~d:
