Nutty, Henry Pil~, 9. <br /> <br />The minutes of the regular meeting May 1Sth Were read and were approved. <br /> <br /> REPORTS OF COmmITTEES. <br /> Auditing-- <br /> The Auditor reported having examine~ bills against the City for the month of <br /> <br />Nay, 1914, and recommended payment of the same to the following amounts: $6,51$.TS for the <br />City Pro'er; /~$S~4,0~ for the Sixth Wsmd; and ~$~.~9 for the Seventh Ward. <br /> On motion, the bills were allowed and by the fol~owing vote: <br /> Ayes--Williams, <br /> Ma~hs~Langhorne, Flou~noy, _Ballentine, ~Adama,~ Davis, Murry, Pile, 9~ <br /> Finance-_ <br /> The Chairman of the Committee asked that consideration of the report be passed <br />by for the present, as he was waiting for some information about a certain section of same be- <br />fore signing it. On motion, the report was passed by~ <br /> <br /> Streets-- <br /> Hon. Board of Aldermen. <br /> Gentlemen:-- Your Street Committee respectfully reports <br /> <br />herein concerning the following matters referred to the Joint Street Committee May 1E-l~, 1~i4: <br /> Re~erredby Common Council May 1Eth. <br /> <br /> For examination and repsrt. A petition of ~ames T. Cas~teen, agent for Hodges estate, to <br />be re-imbursed to amount of $1Z.EO pals for repairs to a water pipe opposite Nos. 8i4 and <br />Chestnut street. <br /> We have looked into this ~atter,~believe the City to be responsible for the broken <br />water pipe, and recommend that the $13.E0 be allowed as requested. <br /> <br /> A petition cf A. C. Thomson and sund~vy property owners on King street that said street be <br />paved from Court to Washington. Progress as to same. <br /> <br />To remove old'stone on Second street, between ~enryand Randolph. <br /> We report that this old sto~e has been remove~. <br /> <br /> Advisability of allowing the ~ixth Ward to use the Oity street sweeper for three days. <br /> We report that the .City has only one street sweeper in condition for ready work and <br />that is in use continually; but there is an old street sweeper somewhat out of repair which the <br />Sixth Ward Board could have fixed 'ap at slight cost and use; and it is recommended that said <br />street sweeper be loaned to the Ward. <br /> <br />R~ferred by Board of Aldermen May 19th. <br /> <br /> To investigate and report as to rights of the S. A._ L. Ry. Co.. at the southeast intersec- <br />tion of Water and County streets. <br /> It is recommended tha~ the City Attorney be instructed to give the Council his writ- <br />ten opinion in this matter. ~ <br /> <br /> The Cit~Em~gineer reported that certain boardwalks in the Sixth and Seventh Wards are <br />in very bad condition and we would recommen~ that the Local Boards of said Wards be requested <br />to repair said boardwalks or to remove them. <br /> <br /> (Signed) O.P.
