L. Kline to be refunded $1.80 paid in error for soil ta~ for the year 191Z <br />was referred to Finance Committee. <br /> <br /> A petition of Jas. Kesketh, Jr., to be refunded $1.80 paid in error for soil tax for the <br />year 1915 was referred to Finance Committee. <br /> <br /> A communication was read from the Fire Board concerning the advisability of an ordinance <br />prohibiting the employment of persons under twenty-one years of age as operators for moving pic- <br />ture shows; and said communication was referred to Ordinance Committee. <br /> <br /> A request was received from'the Sevent~ Ward Board tha~ Council provide it with~funds to <br />amount of $B,$~9~ to meet regular expenditures of the Ward for. July, August and September. <br /> On motion, said request was referred to Finance Commmttee. <br /> <br /> The Seventh Ward Board for#arded the resignation of W. E. Whit~hurst as a member of the <br />Bo~d an~ endorsed the application of Jas. A. Whitlock Sot the vacancy. <br /> On motion, the filling o~ said vacancy was referred to a Joint Session of the two <br />branches. <br /> <br /> A petition of R. O~tavio to be ref6nded $8.00 paid in excess for City license was re£err~d <br />to Finance Committee. <br /> <br /> A request of the City Clerk for thirty days leave of absence after the Ju~je meeting of the <br />Board was granted. <br /> <br /> ~Sr. Markham moved to adjourn, but the motion was held up on request of Mr. Pile to be al- <br />lowed to make a statement. <br /> <br />Mr. Pile then brought up the matter of transfer of a horse ~o the Annex Fire Hose Company. <br />He wished to know what right the Chairman of the Fire Committee,~ or any other member of <br />the Committee, had to transfer horses from one engine house to another, claiming that such a <br />matter betong~d to the Chief ~ngineer of the Fire Department. <br /> Discussion followed between him and Er. Markham ~oncerninmg the.authority of the Chairman <br />of the Fire Committee_ but finally, o~motion'of'Mr.~Pi1~-- %he'ma~ter of transferring horses of <br />She Fire Department f~om one engine house to anothsr wasrreferre~ to Fire Committee. <br /> <br /> Mr. Davis m6ved that the attention of the Street Committee be called to condition of the <br />West Park View bridge. The motion was adopted. <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Wiiliams, the advisability of a light at the corner of Chestnut and Holla- <br />day streets was referred to the L~ght Committee. <br /> <br /> The Chairman of the Public Property Committee asked permission to advertise for bids for <br />pairs to the Court room, and the permission was gra~ted. <br /> <br /> <br />
