495 <br /> <br />O__ctober 11_~1994 <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, October <br />11, 1994, there were present: <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor Johnny M. Clemons, Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., <br />James C. Hawks~ James T. Martin, Cameron C. Pitts, P. Ward <br />Robinett, Jr., C. W. McCoy, Assistant City Manager, Stuart E. <br />Katz, City Attorney. <br /> <br />94-399 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be <br />held in the City Council Chamber, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 <br />Crawford Street, at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 11, 1994, for <br />the purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br /> In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an <br />Executive Session. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br /> 94-400 - The following items were discussed in the Public <br />Work Session: <br /> <br />1. Crimes Bill Presentation <br /> <br />2. City Council's Goals and ObjeCtive <br /> <br />3. Port Norfolk ConneCtor Funds <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Robinett, and seconded by Mr. Martin, to go <br />into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 <br />of the Code of Virginia for the following: <br /> <br /> (1) Consideration of appointments to Boards and <br />Commissions by the City Council, as permitted under Subsection <br />(A) (1); <br /> <br /> (2) Consideration of the use or acquisition of real <br />property for public purpose in the southern and central portions <br />of the City, as permitted under Subsection (A)(3); <br /> <br /> (3) Consultation with the City Attorney and briefing by <br />staff regarding a matter of actual litigation (Bogues Case), and <br />legal matters involving a contract with Portsmouth Partnership a <br />contract with Bush Realty, and to consult with the City Attorney <br />regarding a donation of public property for a state purpose, as <br />permitted under Subsection (A) (7). <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. Martin pursuant <br />to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to <br />the best of the Council member's knowledge during the <br />immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: <br /> <br /> - (1) Only Public business matters lawfully exempted from <br />open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information <br />Act, and <br /> <br /> <br />
