Cart had read a statement of the cost of lighting the City Jail between February 1, <br />1914, and February l~ 1915, commented o~ the excessive price fo~ same~ and moved to refer to <br />Public Property C~mmmttee to ascertain mf a reduction can not be made in the cost of lightimg <br />the Jail and Market. The motion was adopted. <br /> <br /> Mr. Cart stated that the Keeper of the. Oe~e~eries desired to h~ve fixed the orice of several <br />small lots n~a~ the stables in the Oak Grove CemeterY, and the mat~er of fixing ire price of the <br />lots was referred to the Cemetery Oommittee. <br /> <br /> M~. Browne moved to refer to Finance Committee to have made available the appropriation al- <br />lowed in,he Budget for "West Park View Bridge." The motion was adopted. <br /> <br /> By the same, That the Finance Commi~tee~ when taking up consideration of the "License Tax <br />Grdinance for 1Si~-16," consider also the advisability of submitting to a popular vote the ques- <br />tion o£ an increase of tax for the City Public Schools, in order to maintain-their present high <br />state of efficiency; and to separate the funds which should go for the support of t4e Schools <br />from those for general expenses o£ the City. <br /> The matter was discussed by Mr. Browne and Mr. Davis and finally, the motion by Mr. Browne <br />was ad~oted. <br /> <br /> .Mr. Wilson moved to refer to Street Committee to consider the condition of Third street, <br />b~tween Fayette and $incoln.
