<br />The minutes of the adjourned regular meeting June l?th were read and were approved.

<br /> REPORTS OF CONNITTEES.
<br /> Auditing--
<br /> The Auditor reported having examined bills against the City for the month of
<br />
<br />June, 1915, and recommended payment of the same to the following amounts: $4,0~4.1~ for the
<br />City Proper; $1, O?E. 5S for the Sixth ~ard; and $S50.~4 for the Seventh Ward.
<br />
<br /> ~n motion, the bills were allowed and by the following vote:
<br /> Ayes--Davis, Markham,

<br />
<br /> - At this point, it was observed that there was not a sufficient numbsr~-of members present

<br />Committee respectfully reports hereim concerning the following matters referred to the Joinm
<br />~treet Committee June S-!Tth, 1515:

<br /> Referred by Common Council June 8th.
<br />
<br /> A petition of the Auto Supply Station to be allowed to place a sidewalk gasoline pump amd
<br />storage tank at 107 1/4 High street.
<br /> It is recommended that t~e petition be gramted~ the work to be done umder the supe~-
<br />vision of the City Engineer and Chief of the Fire Department.
<br />
<br /> A communication from the Seventh ~ard Board calling attentiom to ~usatisfactery drainage
<br />along Gander Creek in the eld part of the Cit~ especially at Nashingten, Dimwi~d~e, and Middle
<br />streets, during recent storm.
<br /> We report that this matter is beiDg attended to.
<br />
<br /> Advisability of paving Crawfo=d street, from High to Queen; and Queen st=eot, from Craw-
<br />ford to Water. Progress as to same.

<br /> A communicatiom from the Mayor as to the feasibility Of the ~ityEngineer prepa~i~gamap
<br />of the Oity's natural drainage, and defining the City's holdings inthe same; andals~caliing
<br />attention to obstructed flow of water at the intersection of ~ashington and Harrison streets, &c.
<br /> It is recommended that the City Engineer be instructed to prepare such map, after
<br />.which the Board of Harbor Commissioners be requested to establish the dramnage limes f6r the
<br />City in accordance with said map.
<br />
<br />Attention called to condition of gasoline tamping engine owned by the City.

<br /> It. is'further recommended that the Council instruct the Clerk to write to the VLrginia
<br />Railway & Power Co., Portsmouth, Berkley & Suffolk ~ater Company, and P~rtame~th Gas Oompany, ~
<br />notifying them that the City xs about to repair We~t Pa~k View Bridge and im~truct them to~do.
<br />What may be necessary in the premises for taking care of ~heir trackage and pipes on the bridge.
