<br />fc~ the y~ar 191S and credited with $3.60 for the year 1914; out of Sixth Ward funds.

<br /> A petition of A. J. Andrews to be r~funded $?.20 paid for erroneous assessment of night
<br />soil tax in the Seventh ~ard.
<br /> It is recommended that A. J. Andrews be refunded $3.60, the amount overpaid on two
<br />toilets.
<br /> We report further that we have examined the .contract and bond given by J. H. Belote,
<br />successor to I. C. Brinkley, tc supply the Almshouse wzth rations for the year 1915; and it is
<br />recommended that said contract and bond be accepted.

<br /> A petition of the Auto Supply Station to be allowed to place a sidewalk gasoline pump and
<br />storage tank at 107 1/4 High street.
<br /> It is recommended that the petition be granted, the work to be done under the:~per-
<br />vision of the City Engineer and Chief of the Fire Department.
<br />
<br /> A communication from the Seventh Ward Board calling attention to unsatisfactory drainage
<br />along Gander Creek in the old par~ of the City, especially at Washington, Dinwiddie, and Middle
<br />streets, during recent, storm.
<br /> We report that this matter is being attended to.
<br />
<br /> Advisability of paving Crawford street, from High to Queen; and Queen street, from Craw-
<br />ford to ~ater. P~ogreee as to same:.

<br />of the City's natural drainage and defining the City's holdings in. the same; and also calling
<br />attention to obstructed flow of water at the intersection of Nashington and Harrison streets,

<br /> It is recommende~ that the City Engineer be instruct?d to prepare such map, after
<br />which theBoard of Harbor Commxssioners be requested to estabimsh the drainage lines for the
<br />City in accordance with said map.
<br />
<br /> Attention called to condition of gasoline tamping engine owned by the City. Progress.
<br />
<br /> It is further recommended that Council instruct the Clerk to write to the Virginia
<br />Railway & Power:'Co., Portsmouth, Berkley & S_uf. folk Water Company, and Portsmouth Gas Company,
<br />what.~aF~e necessary in the~ premises for't~k~g care of'thelr track~ge and pipee.$n the b~idge.
