November 9, 1915.

portion of it, say fifteen (15) or twenty (20) acres, could be develLoped immediately for ceme-
tery pu~'~poses. About ten (lC) or fifteen (15) acres on the water front, sowed in gras~, would
answer the p~rpose of an attractive rest place for many years, and the remaining portion of
high land, which would net ~t pre~ent be needed for cemetery purposes, consisting of between
sixty (6~) and seventy (?~) acres, could be rented out for farming p~z~poses. The rental derived
therefrom should pay a considerable portion of the Keeper's salary.

The land offered by the Tidewater Realty Company is within easy access o£ the City, both
by good roads and street cars, and meets the requirements of the law with respect to the estab-
lishment of cemeteries.

It is outside of the factory district, and the water front would never be suitable for
wharves and piers; and the selection of the site, and its use by the City, while furnishing ex-
cellent facilities for cemetery purposes, would not interfere with the future growth of the City
for residential and industrial purposes.

It is the most rolling piece of land offered. It is well drained, has about half a mile
of water front on Bruce's Creek, an arm of the Western Branch~ and has an abundance.of beauti-
ful foilage and fine old trees~

In conclusion,.we believe that the selection of the site recommended by us is susceptible
of. development that Will make it one of the most beautiful cemeteries in the ~tate, and that
its location is such that it will always baa quiet, peaceful and restful place, and that our
people will take the greatest interest and pride in its development, beauty and attractiveness.

Respectfully submitted,
