<br /> ~hereupon, Mr. Markham moved zc add $14,500. to the Fire Department Budget for fire equip-
<br />merit, in order to give fire protection to the Fourth Ward.
<br /> Messrs. Markham and Herbert urged the appropriation. Several members expressed themselves
<br />in favor of the appropriation but did not think the matter had been presented in proper shape.
<br /> Finally, the motion was lost.
<br /> Mr. Markham obtained permission to change his vote from Aye to Nay, with majority.
<br />
<br />He~then moved to adjourn.. The motion was lost.
<br />
<br />On motion, the Budget was adopted, as amended.
<br />
<br />Mr. Laylor moved to reconsider matter of appropriation for "Schools."
