Davis Reed, our represent&~ive in the House of Delegates, calling attention tO several bills pending in the Legislature, ~ecialiy to a "Bill to protect the Public Health; to Provide for the Control~a~i Supervision of Waters Furm~ished to the Public for Drir~lngs~ud Domestic Use~ to Define the Duties of the State Board of Health in Relation Thereto." Er. Earkham called attention specia&ly to the Public Health Bill and smid he thought that r~o=esen~&~ives from-the Council should be appointed to look into the matter, a~d so moved. An order was read from the Court of Hustings of the City of Portsmouth of the appointment by said Court of Robert B. The motion was s~iopted, Mr. Browne moved to refer to Finance Committee to ma~e available $1,275.00, Issue, for res~ur~acing County street in the Sixth Ward. The motion was a~opted. Street Com~mittee-- A petition of the Sixth ~s~rd Board~br ~u approprimtion of $I,050. to buy three lots to open up London street through to Ninth avenue. A petition o£ the Sixth Ward Board for au appropriation of $100. to O. L. Williams for work on Fifth avenue, the contract having been awarde~ hzm for $114.00, when the figures should have been $21~.00. of Fire-- A petition of the Sixth Ward Board that a fire hydrant be in~talled at Tenth avenue a~d North street, to protect said section in case of fire. the co=net On motion, adjourned.
