Matters adopted by the Common Council December ltth and referred to the Board of Aldermen for concu~renOeo To purchase the "Guthrie property, adjoining the Os~k Grove Cemetery/~for a c~metery, at a cost not to exceed $2,~00.00; and to refer appropriation for same to the FinancaCom~mittee. Not concurred in, ou~ instead, adopted the Minority report of the Cemetery Committee recommending that the property of the Tidewater Realty Company be purchased for $50,000.00. At this point, Er. Reynolds moved that the matter lay on the table for thirtyJdays. ~x~v. Leavitt raised the question as to whether t~e matter could be reconsidered at this time. The Chair decided that, under section 8 of the ,rules,,, the m~tter ca, not be recon- sidered until three months after, it first failed of adoption. To authorize the City Treasurer to renew notes to amount of $42,500.00, f~liing due in January, 19i6. No action, on account of lack of necessary vote for same~ The Budget~ of Anticmpated Keceip~s and Expenditures for tAe Year 1916. Concurred in, with exception of the Police Department. Whereupon, Mr. H~nvey moved that this body s~lh~r~e to its former action with regard to retaining the automobile in the Police Budget. The motion w~s ~dopted. Then Mr. Hanvey moved~ that the proper Officers be instructed to pay off the Police Force as is customary, until matter of the Police Budget is settled~ The motion was ~dopted by the following vote: Ayes--Herbert, Brauch, White, Burgess, Hanvey, Moore (Jos. S.), Hutchins, Leavitt, ~"Wrlght, Flemming, IIontague, Reynolds, Morgan, 13. ~ To instruct the City Auditor to pay certain bills recommended by the Public Property Com- mittee, upon approval of the said Committee; money being available for the work. Concurred in. To pay off City employees on December 31st, 19t5~ whose pay would be due on January !, 1916. Concurred in. To authorize the Com~ittees having ~k~S~rge of approvals of bills, requisitions, &c., to act on same as heretofore, until the Special Committee for Purchasing Supplies shall have been ap- pointed.~ Concurred in. To refer to Public Property Committee, with power to act, a petition of COmmittee on munity uhmzstmas Tree" for~permission to plant two cedar trees on the Court House grounds.
